A first hand conscious experience is important in the understanding and articulation of space. This assessment introduced students to visualization and expression of space through on-site sketching activity on campus.

PROJECT 1B: TONAL VALUES

This exercises is designed to build upon the previous assignment, in developing one's skills in creating depth and tone in a sketch, and thus refining and enhancing the ability to produce an architectural sketch that is legible. The selected piece of architecture would be the Barcelona Pavilion, and students are required to tone in 4 different methods.

PROJECT 2A: ORTHOGRAPHIC DRAWINGS

PROJECT 2B: AXONOMETRIC PROJECTIONS

PROJECT 2C: PERSPECTIVE DRAWINGS

PROJECT 3: FINISHING AND PRESENTATION

DESIGN COMMUNICATION

PROJECT 1A: ON-SITE SKETCHING

HATCHING

CROSS HATCHING

STIPPLING

SCRIBBLING

Based on this assignment, we are required to demonstrate drafting skills in modern and traditional methods of architecrual drawing. Record and present clear and legible architectural information manually. We will also learn about architectural conventions and symbols, which are to be apply into our orthographic drawing.

Axonometric dawing is an excellent method of communicating and expressing an architectural idea, as it shows in 3D form, which includes height. Axonometric drawings are a visually instingating and exciting way of expressing an idea clearly with minimal words if executed well. It also helps alot in presentation boards.

Perspective drawing is introduced as a mode of communication in architecture through the final part in project 2. Students are required to construct a two point and a one point perspective, to demonstrate the ability to express spatial idea in 3D form. The selection of space and exterior form is important, to showcase the entire building.

The final assignment was a inter-related project with design studio. This assignment requires us to create a highly legible board, which includes orthographic, axonometric or perspective drawing regarding our hideout. The presentation board produced would need to be able to speak and present for themselves, which means without an oral presentation. Students should let the drawing communicate for themselves, to showcases their ability to properly layout the boards, their design and in terms of tecnicalities.
